About us
Gibbs & Sister is just that - a family business. We're Anna and Lucy Gibbs - a friendly sister duo from South East London, inspired by vintage family wedding photos.
We take characterful, documentary-style photographs, and particularly specialise in intimate celebrations, elopements, and micro weddings. For larger weddings, our alternative approach means that we both photograph the ceremony through to the wedding breakfast, then share the remaining hours of the day between us. This means that you get two perspectives, for the price of one!

Gibbs & Sister came about quite organically, through a shared habit of always having a camera on our persons. We became the friends and family members always at the ready to act as designated photographer, then one recommendation led to another, and another... and here we are today! We like to get to know you before your wedding, via calls and messages, so that on the day itself, we can blend in almost like friends.
We both are chatty, and like a giggle, so we love meeting you and your guests. We first began by drawing on our vintage camera collection, and still now use genuine vintage 35mm SLR film cameras today (with the occasional 90s point-and-shoot for party shots). We can't wait to continue providing alternative photography for our lovely clients, who want something a little less perfect, and a little more 'real'.
Mixing vintage and modern, to create something new
As members of the Photographic Collector’s Club of Great Britain, we draw from our beloved collection of both vintage 35mm film and modern digital cameras to create our vintage-inspired candid style, and to form our personality-focused approach.
In keeping with our vintage-inspired style, we edit our photographs with bold pops of colour, slightly high contrast, and a bit of grain.
Truly candid, gently-guided
We document your day in a primarily candid way, with gently-guided posing when appropriate, so that you can focus on enjoying your day. We want you to be able to look back on your photos in decades to come, and still feel the same emotions that you experienced on the day, and to see your personalities reflected in the photographs.
Meet the family!
In the Gibbs family, photography has always been there - an important means of stopping time, marking events, and exploring our creativity. As children, we treasured our family wedding photos snapped on film, and the candid family photos taken on 2000s digital cameras.
Above are some of those photographs (1940s - 1990s), all taken on film, and full of character, joy, and movement.
